
Flooding Protection Subsidy Program Information
The Town of Kingsville offers two Flooding Protection Subsidy Programs to assist homeowners: the Backyard Flooding Protection Subsidy and the Basement Flooding Protection Subsidy. If you are interested in taking advantage of either of these subsidies, please use this form to request the appropriate application form(s).
The Backyard Flooding Protection Subsidy
- Up to 50% of the cost to install a rear-yard catch basin ($2500.00 maxium). Building permit required.
What is not covered
- Replacement of an existing rear yard catch basin
- Upgrade of an existing rear-yard catch basin
- Addition of another rear-yard catch basin
- Work performed for which a permit cannot be obtained
The Basement Flooding Protection Subsidy
- Up to 50% of the cost to install backwater valve(s) by a licensed plumber ($750.00 maximum). Permit required
- Up to 50% of the cost to install a sump pump to disconnect foundation drains to floor drains ($750.00 maximum)
- Up to 50% of the cost to install a backwater valve and sump pump ($1500.00 maximum)
What is not covered
- Replacement of existing sump pump
- Upgrade of sump pump
- Addition of another sump pump
- Installation of a sump pump when foundation drains are already separated from floor drain or sanitary sewer
- Work performed for which a permit cannot be obtained
Program Eligibility
These programs are available to homeowners who live in the Town of Kingsville and do not have amounts owing to the Town, such as back taxes or overdue payments.
Subsidy Requirements
ALL eligible work MUST be performed by a licensed contractor / licensed plumber or master plumber. Any work performed by a homeowner DOES NOT qualify for these subsidies.
